Job Description – Tracheostomy Complex Carer
Location: Devizes, Wiltshire
Shifts: 12-hour shifts (Days & Nights)
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Tracheostomy Complex Carer to support an individual with complex health needs in their home in Devizes. You will deliver safe, person-centred care and manage all aspects of tracheostomy and respiratory support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tracheostomy care including suctioning, stoma care, and emergency management.
- Monitor breathing and overall wellbeing, escalating concerns promptly.
- Support with personal care, mobility, and daily routines.
- Manage enteral feeding and medication (as trained).
- Maintain accurate care records and follow all clinical and safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tracheostomy care.
- Current tracheostomy/suctioning training and competency.
- Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK.
- Reliable, calm, and confident in responding to emergencies.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience with PEG feeding, ventilation, or neurological conditions.
