Coyle Education are currently looking for a 1:1 SEN Tutor to support students based in or around the Chelmsford area to prepare and deliver a tailored tuition package to provide them with education they are missing out on.
The students we work with have a range of Special Educational Needs and require additional support while they are currently not attending school, by providing them with a highly differentiated and engaging curriculum to bridge the gaps in their education.
This opportunity would be fantastic for a new or experienced teacher looking to work closely with students outside the classroom to provide a more personalised, enjoyable learning environment.
A large portion of the students have been out of school for extended periods of time which may have affected their confidence levels. Not only will you be required to bridge gaps in their educations, it’s also your responsibility to re-engage them with their education and provide a good structure not just for learning but also in their daily routine.
Coyle education will be available and will assist in the monitoring of each student’s progression to ensure they are receiving the best form of education.

Key responsibilities:
Coyle Education have formed a number of long-lasting relationships with secondary schools in Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire and have recently started a tuition division to support those without a school placement. We have earned an exceptional reputation within the Education industry and it\’s the responsibility of our employees to uphold these high-quality standards when supervising a classroom or working within the school\’s environment.
When working as a 1:1 SEN Tutor for Coyle Education, you can expect to provide the following responsibilities:
- Acting as a role model to the students and lead by example
- Planning, Preparing and Delivering tailored lessons whilst being adaptable to ensure the students’ needs are always met.
- Managing the behaviour of pupils throughout the lessons
- Keeping on top of student progress by providing a weekly report
- Recording daily attendance to ensure parties are aware of the child’s whereabouts
- Advising Consultant of safeguarding concerns as and when appropriate
It is preferred that all tutors have previous experience working in a teaching environment however this is not essential. SEN experience would also be favourable should this be in education or other support-based roles but again, not essential as training can be provided.
Working Hours:
Tuition hours follow the usual school day and would usually take place between 9am – 4:30pm (Monday – Friday). We do offer sessions after school; however these are less common than cases during the school hours. You have the opportunity to work either full-time or part-time depending on your availability.
