Role Overview:
The Recruitment Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational performance and sales growth of our permanent and contractor recruitment operations to major clients in the UK infrastructure and construction sector. This is a key leadership role for a commercially minded individual with deep recruitment and industry knowledge. Leading and developing teams of specialist white-collar, professional, mechanical and electrical Recruitment Consultants and Resourcers. These teams provide our clients with highly skilled professionals to complement our supply of high-volume blue-collar workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement development plans for all key accounts and staff members aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- P&L Accountability: Manage the business units’ financial performance, including revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth delivery of candidate, maximising fill rates across all customers whilst maintaining high standards of service and efficiency.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and stakeholders to secure new business and sustain existing partnerships.
- Business Development: Lead on the development of new business with new and existing customers to ensure our company is the supplier of choice for all Tier 1 UK infrastructure customers and strategic customer accounts.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance across all operations.
- Performance & KPI Management: Monitor and drive performance against key business metrics, taking corrective action as required. Using recruitment metrics and ratios to develop people and performance.
- People Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and develop all team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement to enhance service delivery and competitiveness.
Key Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years Recruitment industry experience
- Proven experience in a recruitment leadership role, ideally in the white-collar construction space.
- Proven track record of managing teams to well defined recruitment industry performance indicators
- Track record of driving team performance and business growth.
- Strong commercial skills with full P&L accountability.
- Confident communicator, mentor, and negotiator.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership style.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing P&L and delivering financial targets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business development skills.
- Deep understanding of workforce management, operational delivery, and compliance in the UK infrastructure sector.
- Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities, with experience overseeing large teams.
