Coyle Homecare is a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered agency and has been a leading provider of homecare services in the UK for over 20 years. We are seeking dedicated, reliable and compassionate Complex Carers to join our team, providing high-quality, one-to-one care and support to an adult in the comfort of his own home.

You will be supporting a warm, engaging and sociable 48-year-old man who lives in a clean, modern flat in a central location in Devizes. He has a complex medical history, including malignant brain tumours, a stroke and cognitive impairment, which present significant daily challenges. However, maintaining his independence, dignity and quality of life remains a priority.

We are looking for calm, friendly and observant carers who can confidently support his complex physical and neurological needs while providing genuine companionship, emotional reassurance and encouragement. The successful candidates will play an important role in maintaining his safety, promoting his wellbeing and supporting him to enjoy everyday life as independently as possible.

Full client-specific training will be provided to ensure you feel confident and equipped to deliver safe, effective and personalised care.

As a Complex Carer with Coyle Homecare, you will play a vital role in delivering consistent, high-quality, person-centred care within a 24-hour, one-to-one support package. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Personal Care and Daily Living: Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, nutrition and other activities of daily living, always promoting dignity, independence and choice.
  • Mobility and Moving & Handling: Support safe mobility and transfers within the home and community, following appropriate moving and handling procedures.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medication safely and accurately in accordance with prescribed instructions, care plans and relevant procedures.
  • Health Monitoring: Monitor the service user's health and wellbeing, including blood glucose levels using a Libre sensor, and remain alert to changes that may indicate a deterioration in his condition.
  • Complex Medical Support: Maintain awareness of the risks associated with seizures, diabetes and adrenal insufficiency, following individual care plans and training.
  • Observation and Emergency Response: Recognise early warning signs of medical deterioration, respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies, and promptly escalation concerns to healthcare professionals when required.
  • Emotional Support and Companionship: Build a trusting relationship through friendly interaction, reassurance and compassionate support, helping to maintain emotional wellbeing and reduce feelings of anxiety or distress.
  • Lifestyle and Community Access: Encourage independence and participation in everyday activities, accompany the service user to appointments and activities as required, and support safe access to the local community.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely and confidential daily care records, documenting care delivered, observations, medication administration and any changes or concerns.
  • Family and Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with the service user's family and relevant healthcare professionals to support continuity of care and ensure that his individual needs are met.
  • Safeguarding and Confidentiality: Protect the service user's rights, privacy, dignity and safety, following safeguarding procedures and maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Consistent, Person-Centred Care: Follow agreed care plans, risk assessments and professional guidance, adapting support to the service user's changing needs while respecting his preferences and independence.
