This may involve handling tasks directly or coordinating team members to keep operations running safely and on time.
What You ll Be Doing Managing the safe and efficient recording and storage of vehicles.
Receiving deliveries and conducting physical vehicle inspections for transport damage.
Updating spreadsheets and internal systems.
Storing customer items securely until their corresponding vehicles are sold.
Picking and repatriating items to vehicles in the collection lanes.
Despatching vehicles off the internal stock management system.
Facilitate the accurate and efficient movement of vehicles by coordinating the activities of team members.
Ensure all vehicle records are correctly and accurately updated in all relevant systems.
Store all items in the correct locations and in the appropriate manner.
Inspect vehicles for any transit damage and raise suspected transportation claims or shortfalls using the relevant systems (full training will be provided) Ensure vehicles are receipted and despatched from site in accordance with the correct processes.
Be trained and competent in fuelling and safely jump-starting vehicles as required.
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and take reasonable care to promote the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.
Drive vehicles in a professional and compliant manner, following all site rules and HSE (Health, Safety Environment) requirements, while treating all vehicles with care and respect.
Conduct yourself in a calm, courteous, and professional manner when interacting with customers and team members.
Drive any vehicles, as instructed by your line manager, for which you are licensed.
Carry out any other ad hoc duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the yard operations department, reporting directly to your line manager.
What We re Looking For Strong communication and organisational skills - the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and give clear instructions where appropriate.
Able to demonstrate good time management with the ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
Able to cope well under pressure in a very busy atmosphere whilst ensuring attention to detail is maintained at all times.
Compliant with the use of handheld and tablet technology.
Must be happy to work outside in all weather conditions (position can be both yard and office based).
The role requires strong administrative skills and a good level of physical fitness, as manual handling of vehicle items is often necessary.
