As an Operations Coordinator in our Fuel Dispensing Team, your primary responsibility will be to carry out and co-ordinate the fuelling of vehicles. You will be trained and have the ability to safely jump start vehicles ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles on-site during the arrival and despatch processes. This may involve direct handling of vehicles or coordinating activities carried out by other team members, depending on the specific customer-defined processes.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and carrying out vehicle fuelling.
- Managing the safe and efficient recording and storage of vehicles.
- Receiving deliveries and conducting physical vehicle inspections for transport damage.
- Updating spreadsheets and internal systems.
- Storing customer items securely until their corresponding vehicles are sold.
- Picking and repatriating items to vehicles in the collection lanes.
- Despatching vehicles from the internal stock management system.
- Facilitating the accurate and efficient movement of vehicles by coordinating the activities of team members.
- Ensuring all vehicle records are correctly and accurately updated in all relevant systems.
- Storing all items in the correct locations and in the appropriate manner.
- Inspecting vehicles for any transit damage and raising suspected transportation claims or shortfalls using the relevant systems (full training will be provided).
- Ensuring vehicles are receipted and despatched from site in accordance with the correct processes.
- Being trained and competent in fuelling and safely jump-starting vehicles as required.
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines, and taking reasonable care to promote the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.
- Driving vehicles in a professional and compliant manner, following all site rules and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements, while treating all vehicles with care and respect.
- Conducting yourself in a calm, courteous, and professional manner when interacting with customers and team members.
- Driving any vehicles, as instructed by your line manager, for which you are licensed.
- Carrying out any other ad hoc duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the yard operations department, reporting directly to your line manager.
Qualifications:
- Must have strong communication and organisational skills; communicating effectively with colleagues and giving clear instructions where appropriate.
- Able to demonstrate good time management with the ability to prioritise the workload and work to deadlines.
- Able to cope well under pressure in a very busy atmosphere whilst ensuring attention to detail is maintained at all times.
- Compliant with use of handheld and tablet technology.
- Must be happy to work in outside weather conditions (position can be both yard & office based).
- The role requires strong administrative skills and a good level of physical fitness, as manual handling of vehicle items is often necessary.
