We’re now looking for an ESG Specialist to join us on a 12‑13 month maternity cover, supporting the delivery of our ESG commitments across the UK and Europe.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, senior stakeholders and external partners to turn ESG ambition into action. You’ll play a key role in data‑driven decision‑making, regulatory readiness and continuous improvement across our environmental and wider ESG agenda. What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the delivery of Cox Automotive Europe’s ESG strategy and action plans
- Driving carbon reduction initiatives with business units across the UK and EU
- Engaging suppliers to improve Scope 3 emissions data collection and quality
- Collecting, validating and analysing GHG emissions data across Scopes 1, 2 and 3
- Tracking ESG targets and KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
- Supporting ESG questionnaires, ratings, tenders and customer information requests
- Monitoring ESG legislation, standards and frameworks (e.g. CSRD, SECR, GHG Protocol) and highlighting business impacts
- Working cross‑functionally through the Sustainability ERG to embed best practice
- Maintaining robust documentation, controls and audit‑ready evidence
What we’re looking for:
- Essential: Experience in environmental sustainability, ESG or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with confidence handling qualitative and quantitative data
- Knowledge of ESG frameworks, reporting standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while building effective stakeholder relationships
- Desirable: Experience within automotive, financial services, technology or regulated environments
- Experience engaging with external stakeholders such as suppliers or customers
