About The Role
Drive the auctioneering of cars and light commercial vehicles, playing a key role in delivering a seamless auction experience while actively engaging a broad buyer network to maximise competition and achieve optimal sale values.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality auctioneering across the auction network, maximising buyer engagement and achieving optimal sale values
- Drive activity and growth across all routes to market, including physical and online auctions
- Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with Auction Centre teams, vendors, and buyers, acting as a trusted product specialist
- Support Auction Centres with pre-sale activity, including vehicle descriptions, provisional bids, valuations, and sale-day processes
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, sharing market insights and supporting Auction Centres as required
- Proactively manage and resolve customer queries and complaints, ensuring timely, effective outcomes for all parties
- Operate in line with all agreed SLAs and KPIs, consistently meeting or exceeding performance targets
- Develop and strengthen buyer relationships to ensure Manheim’s offering remains industry-leading, using customer feedback to recommend and implement best-practice improvements
- Contribute market insight and commentary within the group auctioneers team, positioning Manheim as a thought leader across relevant media platforms
- Gather and analyse competitor and wider market intelligence to keep Manheim ahead of the market, making recommendations and driving actions where appropriate
- Complete reports and administrative requirements accurately and on time
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels
- A strong customer-centric mindset, delivering outstanding service to vendors and buyers alike
- Effective negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and maximise value
- Proven conflict-management capability, resolving customer issues professionally and to mutual satisfaction
- The ability to translate strategic objectives into effective day-to-day operational delivery
- Strong knowledge of car and light commercial vehicle valuation, with the ability to forecast and interpret market trends
- Confidence in positioning and communicating car and LCV market insights appropriately to different audiences
- Results-driven and target-focused, with the ability to perform consistently against KPIs
- Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and use insights to inform decisions
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the initiative to work independently and drive improvements
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Competent IT skills, including email, calendar management, Microsoft Office applications, and internet/intranet systems
- Full, clean UK driving licence
