We’re looking for a confident and proactive Senior Surveyor to join our Property Management team and help establish our presence across North West England and the West Midlands. This home-based role involves regular travel to client sites across these regions, as well as occasional, fully expensed travel to our head office in Edinburgh. A driving licence and access to a car are therefore essential; a car allowance will be provided.
The opportunity
This varied, hands-on role offers the chance to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial and retail properties and play a leading role in establishing Cowiesburn’s presence across these regions.

What you’ll be doing
- Building positive relationships with clients, tenants and contractors and acting as the main day-to-day contact for clients
- Managing commercial, industrial and retail properties
- Advising on rent reviews, lease events, dilapidations, maintenance and arrears
- Preparing client reports and service charge budgets
- Monitoring expenditure and reconciling service charge accounts
- Carrying out property inspections and coordinating required works
- Supporting health, safety, fire and maintenance compliance
- Identifying opportunities to enhance asset value and expand client services
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external advisers
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring relevant commercial property experience, strong organisational skills and a genuine commitment to excellent client service. You’ll be a clear communicator who is comfortable managing competing priorities, working remotely and taking ownership and responsibility for delivering results.
You’ll also have:
- Demonstrable and meaningful industry experience
- Strong commercial acumen and up to date industry knowledge of law relating to property management to be able to give credible advice, recommendations and influence strategic decisions
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CoPilot
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills
- Proactive, solutions focused approach with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others as required.
- Resilient with composure to deliver effectively under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- A full driving licence and access to a car
- The flexibility to travel regularly throughout North West England and the Midlands
MRICS status and a relevant degree or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
