Cowie Consulting is a growing independent surveying practice based in Darlington, working across the North East and North Yorkshire.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor / Residential Surveyor to join our team, primarily undertaking RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys.

We place a strong emphasis on the quality of our inspections, reports and client advice. Our surveyors are not expected to work to high-volume inspection targets.

What we're looking for

  • Assoc RICS, MRICS or FRICS qualified, or a suitably experienced SAVA graduate
  • Experience undertaking residential property surveys
  • Good knowledge of traditional residential construction and common building defects
  • Strong written communication and report-writing skills
  • Confident communicating directly with clients
  • Able to manage their own inspections and workload
  • Professional, thorough and reliable approach

The role

  • Undertake RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys
  • Inspect a varied range of residential properties across the North East and North Yorkshire
  • Prepare clear, practical and comprehensive reports
  • Provide post-survey advice to clients where required
  • Work within Cowie Consulting's established inspection and reporting procedures
