Do you want to provide leadership in digital delivery? Can you inspire others? Are you experienced in information management? Then, this is the place to create the solutions the world needs today to enable a better tomorrow.
To strengthen our UK & Ireland digital delivery capability, we are looking for an experienced Associate to join us. Working on a range of infrastructure and energy projects, you'll provide leadership across information management, ISO 19650 implementation, and digital delivery governance and assurance.
This role provides depth, resilience, and influence across projects and frameworks (internally and externally), while supporting bids within the UK&I. It also contributes to knowledge-sharing across UK&I, Business Line UK & International, and alignment across the wider COWI business. The role is suited to an individual who brings strong professional credibility, sound judgement, and a pragmatic understanding of how information management and digital delivery enable better project outcomes.
The individual will operate as a trusted peer within the Digital Delivery Management Team, supporting alignment and operational delivery effectiveness. The role balances governance and assurance with hands-on engagement where required, ensuring standards are applied in a way that is scalable, practical, and aligned with project realities.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Information Management & ISO 19650 Leadership
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in information management and the application of the ISO 19650 framework across UK&I projects.
- Translate standards, guidance, and governance requirements into practical, adoptable delivery approaches that support project teams.
- Act as an escalation point for complex or high-risk information management challenges, providing clear, proportionate guidance.
- Delivery-Connected Governance & Assurance
- Maintain a strong connection to live project delivery, ensuring information management approaches remain grounded in operational reality.
- Support project teams during mobilisation, delivery, and assurance stages, including targeted intervention where projects require stabilisation or reset.
- Contribute to audit, assurance, and compliance activity, ensuring outcomes are focused on quality, consistency, and value rather than process alone.
- Frameworks, Bids & Mobilisation
- Provide input to bids, tenders, and framework responses, shaping information management strategies, risk positions, and mobilisation approaches.
- Support project and framework mobilisation, ensuring information requirements, delivery plans, and governance structures are clearly defined and achievable.
- Contribute to commercial discussions where information management scope, resourcing, and delivery models impact project performance.
- Discipline Resilience & Capability Development
- Strengthen resilience within the Digital Delivery discipline by sharing subject matter leadership.
- Mentor and support colleagues across UK&I, Business Lines UK & International, and EDC.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal information management guidance, templates, and best practice.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Professional Credibility
- Build trusted relationships with project managers, engineers, clients, and external stakeholders, helping articulate the value of digital delivery and information management.
- Represent COWI credibly in technical and professional discussions where appropriate, supporting the organisation's reputation.
- Promote a collaborative, pragmatic, and delivery-focused culture aligned with COWI's values.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
Like us, you believe that leadership success comes from setting a clear and meaningful direction for your team and supporting them in taking ownership of their work. You always delegate responsibility and ensure an open and safe dialogue, and you coach your people to achieve their aspirations through constructive, fact-based feedback. Attracting and nurturing a diverse group of high-potential team members is at the top of your agenda, as is creating an inclusive, caring and trusting culture in your team.
On top of that, you'll have:
- Essential
- Significant experience in information management and digital delivery leadership within complex, multidisciplinary project environments.
- Demonstrable expertise in the ISO 19650 framework and its practical application across procurement, mobilisation, delivery, and assurance stages.
- Proven ability to influence outcomes across projects, frameworks, and teams.
- Strong understanding of governance, assurance, and quality management, with the ability to balance consistency and flexibility.
- Experience contributing to bids, frameworks, or major project mobilisation from an information management perspective.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the credibility to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative leadership style, with a clear commitment to mentoring, capability development, and team resilience.
- Highly Desirable
- Professional chartership and/or fellowship within a relevant institution (ICE/IET).
- Experience supporting or contributing to industry standards, guidance, or professional communities.
- Familiarity with common data environments and digital delivery platforms used on major UK&I and international projects.
- Experience aligning information management approaches with wider quality, collaboration, and information security frameworks.
- A strong interest in continuous improvement, innovation, and raising the standard of digital delivery practice.
