Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow. To further our mechanical capability, we are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of complex and high-profile projects across a range of subsectors, including highways, rail, aviation, data centres and buildings within infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Overseeing the design and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a variety of projects.
  • Developing and reviewing mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, architectural, electrical, fire, and systems engineers.
  • Managing interfaces with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and project requirements, including Network Rail, HS2, TfL, British Standards, and Building Regulations where applicable.
  • Supporting design reviews, technical assurance processes, and risk management activities.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians.
  • Contributing to project planning, programme management, and resource forecasting.

On top of that, you’ll have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) or be working towards it.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, smoke control, natural ventilation, CHW, LTHW and refrigerant-based systems.
  • Experience working through all project stages from feasibility and concept design to detailed design and construction support.
  • Solid knowledge of British Standards and Building Regulations.
  • Knowledge of rail standards and experience delivering mechanical engineering designs for major infrastructure projects.
  • Good knowledge of IES software.
