Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow. To further strengthen our Highways and Drainage discipline, we are looking for an experienced Associate (Drainage) to join us. You'll be working across a portfolio of projects across the UK, typically in rail, highways and water as well as the opportunity to support across different sectors and our projects across the globe.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Managing and coordinating delivery of your work to time and budget, ensuring a high standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems across the entire project lifecycle from feasibility to detailed design, including site supervision where required.
- Production of drainage designs, assessments and checking others work, including preparation or checking of models, calculations, written reports, specifications and other contract deliverables.
- Ensuring that design, assessments and checking of designs are in accordance with the current Standards, Codes of Practice and Best Practice.
- Developing and mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians within your project teams.
- Assisting with the preparation of bids and tenders and supporting the Directors in pursuing business development opportunities.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future. The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. On top of that, you’ll have:
- Achieved Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) status with experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Skilled analytical ability and a solid understanding of current design standards and the latest drainage design tools and software.
- Experience of undertaking or specifying drainage surveys.
- Experience of catchment analysis, hydraulic design, pumping station design and legislative requirements.
- Demonstrable experience in railway, highway or water sectors. Ideally both working for the Client or in a Design & build environment.
- Good team leadership skills with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
- A sound understanding and experience in the application of the CDM Regulations and risk assessment process including knowledge of current standards and legislation, including application of the Common Safety Method.
