We are seeking a commercially driven Private Client Tax Partner to help shape the future of our Private Client practice. This senior leadership role offers real influence over strategy, growth and culture, alongside responsibility for delivering exceptional advice to a complex, high-value client base.
You will lead the Private Client Tax service line at Cowgills, acting as a trusted adviser to entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, families and trustees. The role involves overseeing complex advisory work across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts, succession planning and wider wealth structuring.
As a Partner, you will own key client relationships, drive portfolio performance and lead business development. You will play a central role in firmwide decision-making, expand the Private Client Tax offering, identify new market opportunities and build a sustainable, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families, acting as their primary advisor on all private client tax matters.
- Provide high level advice on a broad spectrum of private client tax issues, including estate planning and inheritance tax, income tax, capital gains tax, international personal tax considerations, and technical compliance issues.
- Oversee complex tax projects, ensuring high quality delivery on time and within budget.
- Conduct in-depth research to develop practical and innovative tax solutions for clients.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and regulatory developments, relaying relevant updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior staff, enhancing their technical skills and professional growth.
- Contribute to business development initiatives through networking, delivering presentations, and preparing proposals.
- Collaborate with our international network, GGI International, to foster inbound private client work and coordinate local advice for international clients.
- ACA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven experience in a private client tax advisory role (Partner, Director, or equivalent senior leadership level).
- Strong understanding and knowledge of private client related law and regulations, with a track record in private client advisory services.
- Experience in managing client relationships and leading advisory projects.
