An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events Sous Chef to join the Cowdray team, working with the Executive Chef to deliver events across the Estate.
This progressive family-owned rural estate is located at the heart of the South Downs National Park and employs over 200 staff.

Role Description
We are looking for a competent Sous Chef to work with the Executive Chef to deliver events across the Estate, from the Cowdray Golf Club, esteemed Cowdray House, and beautiful Walled Garden. You will be expected to run different events, varying in size, whilst managing a small team of chefs, create and discuss menu options with clients after preparing and cooking tastings, maintain our food safety controls and monitor the food stock, and work with the Executive Chef on menu development for events across the business.
Role Details
- Deliver events from 50 plus
- Maintain standards to meet our food hygiene requirements
- Work well and manage a kitchen team
- Monitor and maintain good stock levels and margins
- Creativity towards menu creations
- A good understanding of costings
- Must be flexible for shift patterns
- To work directly under the Executive Chef
- 45 hours per week
