We are seeking a proactive and detail‐driven Financial Accountant to join our experienced Finance team in Dumfries. In this pivotal role, you will support the delivery of high‐quality financial reporting, ensure robust compliance with UK and US statutory requirements, and contribute to a strong internal control environment across the Customer Operations UK business.

What You'll Be Doing- Lead the preparation and review of monthly accounting entries, ensuring accuracy across fixed assets, payroll, intercompany, taxation, and other key balance sheet areas.
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial results to support consolidated reporting and management insight.
- Prepare and review UK statutory accounts in full compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Oversee quarterly VAT returns and monthly VAT accounting, ensuring full adherence to HMRC guidelines.
- Coordinate Companies House filings and other statutory submissions, ensuring timely and compliant reporting.
- Support internal and external audits with high‐quality documentation, explanations, and technical insight.
- Maintain and strengthen the financial control environment, ensuring consistent and robust reconciliation and accounting practices.
- Drive process improvements using technology, data insights, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Act as a subject‐matter expert for end‐to‐end financial accounting, providing guidance on complex queries to stakeholders.
- Manage weekly cash flow forecasting and submissions to Group Treasury, ensuring accuracy and early identification of any liquidity considerations.
- Fully Qualified Accountant: ACA/CA or ACCA
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance department or accountancy practice
- Graduate-level education or strong A‐Level (or equivalent) achievement
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to analyse large data sets and high volumes of transactions
- Experience with SAP or Oracle is beneficial
- A willingness to learn our business, group structure, and financial processes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work confidently across teams and with senior stakeholders.
