At Direct by Covetrus, our Suitably Qualified People (SQPs) are essential to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient Direct to Consumer Pharmacy services. Working at the heart of our operations, you’ll help fulfill prescriptions on behalf of our veterinary customers, ensuring pets and their owners get the treatments they need, when they need them.
You\’ll be part of a fast-growing business unit, supporting multiple veterinary practices and a variety of species types. It’s a chance to grow your skills, contribute to animal wellbeing, and be part of a collaborative, purpose-driven team.

To check, make up – and prepare for shipment orders for Direct to Consumer Customers.
Hold accurate records of all transactions
Act as an advisor for our customers using available information to prescribe the most appropriate medicine
SQPs must comply with the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Code of Practice
Supply only medicines that fall within the scope of the qualification obtained and the registration they hold
The act of prescribing taking into account the following
Circumstances of the animal being treated
The available authorised veterinary medicinal products
The need for responsible use and the requirement to prescribe the minimum amount of product necessary for treatment
To ensure that the person receiving the products use it for its authorized use according to the marketing authorization
The ability and competence of the person who will administer the product
Always consult the animal’s health plan if available
Understanding food withdrawal periods for animals entering the food chain
Working hours will be 39.5 hours per week.
About you
Work experience as a Suitably Qualified Person.
Registered with regulatory body.
Problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills to act as the point of contact with other similar professionals.
Good organisational skills to manage day to day workload.
Understanding of the requirements of prescription prescribing for all animal species.
Knowledge of the codes of conduct of veterinary medicine prescribing on behalf of other veterinarians.
Clear understanding of prescribing rules for the cascade.
Ability to delegate supply to trained competent persons.
Continued development and learnings in veterinary medicines and care of animals.
Ability to multi-task and perform tasks diligently in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines is a fundamental part of the job.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications as well as competent in Information Technology
