Coveris is a leading global manufacturer, creating high performance and technically engineered packaging solutions. At our Winsford site, we produce polythene film for a range of established customers across multiple industries including agricultural, industrial, and food based. We are looking for hard-working and motivated individuals to join our production operations team in our Extrusion departments.

Shifts: 4 on, 4 off (2x days 7am-7pm / 2 nights 7pm-7am), on average 14 shifts per month

Salary: Starting at £31,954.58 per year

Holidays: 20 per year

As a Machine Handler, you will assist and support the shift Extrusion Operators maintaining production capabilities and efficiencies, contributing to the consistent production as per customer, quality and H&S standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains production in Machine Minding under the direction of a leading operator.
  • Assists in the basic winder operations: load and unload of reeling bars, cores, and product.
  • Completes de-bagging of raw materials for production.
  • Completes day bin loading to meet production requirements.
  • Finished product packaging and palletisation.
  • Provides materials to production and transports finished and scrap product using a Hand Truck.
  • Carry out scrap product segregation and removal, bails scrap product and raw material bags as required.
  • Provide cover for operator breaks or when extrusion operator is away from the machine.
  • Adheres to company housekeeping and hygiene standards, including disposal of waste and floor sweepings, clears spillages, removes hazards and keeps area clean.
  • Carry out specific machine and machine area cleaning in line with safe working practice/safe systems of work.
  • Completion of ad hoc duties to meet the needs of the business, subject to appropriate training.
  • Completion of duties in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, making recommendations for improvement through Health & Safety Representative as appropriate.
