An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Controller (Indirect) to join our Procurement team at Coveris Gainsborough.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the materials department, ensuring the smooth procurement of goods and services required across the site.
This is a varied role that combines purchasing administration, supplier management, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.
The successful candidate will help drive procurement efficiency, maintain strong supplier relationships, and support cost-saving initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise, amend, close and manage purchase orders in line with procurement procedures.
- Coordinate service orders and support subcontracting activities across Coveris sites.
- Manage supplier deliveries and ensure any delays are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier lead times and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Liaise with transport providers and suppliers to ensure deliveries are completed on time.
- Process supplier invoices, statements, GRNI reports and support invoice query resolution.
- Produce procurement reports and performance data for the Gainsborough and Burnley sites.
- Support supplier performance management through data gathering and scorecard reporting.
- Manage EOMS supplier records and site contracts, ensuring compliance and approved pricing structures.
- Work closely with internal departments to support purchasing requirements and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure purchasing processes are consistently followed.
