We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Operative to join our care home team. Reporting to the Home Manager or Deputy Manager, you will help ensure our home remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs throughout the home.
  • Conduct routine building inspections and audits, ensuring any required actions are completed.
  • Undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on admission and annually.
  • Maintain the gardens and outdoor areas to a high standard, encouraging resident involvement where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Safely store and use equipment, tools, and chemicals.

About You

  • Previous building, property maintenance, or general maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
  • Understanding of facilities management and building maintenance.
  • Experience within a social care setting is desirable.
  • PAT Testing qualification, First Aid, and Property Maintenance qualifications are desirable.
