So, what’s the job?
- You'll be preparing quality, timely and commercial ‘solutions orientated’ legal advice to the business
- You'll be ensuring the legal function provides high quality plain English legal advice that can be practically and commercially applied by the business
- You'll be drafting and negotiating insurance distribution agreements, non-disclosure agreements, agency agreements and other client and supplier contracts and associated documents for the business units in the UK and Europe
- You'll be advising the business units on UK, EEA and non-EEA state regulations governing the sale and distribution of general insurance products with a particular focus on distribution in cross border deals involving multiple parties, different distribution models (direct and intermediated) and different deal structures (including group and individual policy structures)
- You'll be preparing legal review and sign off on a variety of documents produced by the business including marketing campaigns, responses to complaints from customers, responses to consultations by the regulator, etc
- You'll be maintaining abreast of all legal developments that could affect the business, informing the business of them and helping them prepare for any changes required
- You'll be managing litigation matters for business units in the UK and Europe
- You'll be building collaborative and productive working relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders
- You'll be liaising with external legal advisors on various matters and co-ordinating the delivery of legal services to the businesses in the UK and Europe using external resources
And what are we looking for?
- You'll have a current practising certificate in the UK or Ireland
- You'll have a background in travel insurance and/or travel assistance industries desirable, but not essential.
