  • Location: Coventry and Warwickshire
  • Salary: £33,000 to £37,000 (Salary to be agreed based on relevant qualifications and experience)
  • Hours: 37 hours working flexibly Monday – Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm, to include some evening and weekend working

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a dedicated Service Manager to join our team. We are particularly interested in individuals who can work flexibly in a dynamic environment and bring leadership and management experience to support staff in delivering a range of therapeutic mental health and wellbeing services. CWW Mind is committed to supporting its staff develop their skills and will actively help individuals in pursuing leadership and management qualifications.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be expected to manage, develop, and promote a dynamic portfolio of existing and innovative new initiatives. This includes:

  • Continuing to drive the success and growth of CWW Mind's counselling and trauma service, focusing on improving access to mental health and wellbeing support for survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Support and empowerment of an existing, experienced team of practitioners to deliver high-quality services that make a real difference in our community.
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations to lead service expansion.

Programs are spread across community venues in Coventry and Warwickshire and include Space 2 Thrive Counselling and Wellbeing Support Provision. This trauma-informed service provides mental health and wellbeing wrap-around support to individuals aged 18+ who have experienced domestic abuse. Space 2 Thrive began as a two-year pilot and has received further funding to continue developing its innovative community support provision. Delivered through a dedicated team of practitioners, Space 2 Thrive has embedded a trauma-informed approach into all its activities, with the aim of enhancing users' knowledge of trauma and helping them manage their responses.

Support is offered flexibly in community venues and is achieved by mutual agreement with users who can choose one or more of the following activities: one-to-one therapeutic wellbeing, counselling and trauma therapy, navigation, and psycho-educational group sessional opportunities. Trauma-informed training for partner agency staff is also provided to build knowledge.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop specified services and the necessary tools and resources to ensure these services are effective and successful.
  • Oversee operational management and coordination of a portfolio of services.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Operations and/or Director of Operations/Deputy CEO to address day-to-day issues, solve problems, and maintain systems for effective delivery of services.
  • Manage line management duties, allocation of work, caseload management and ongoing support to these roles.
  • Provide line management of designated staff and associate professionals, including regular supervision and appraisals.
  • For the counselling service, ensure receipt of up-to-date documents for proof of professional indemnity insurance and membership in the BACP or equivalent.
  • Manage safeguarding and crisis situations in consultation with the Head of Operations and/or Director of Operations and staff, in line with Coventry and Warwickshire Mind policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate recognised leadership and management qualifications and a proven track record of line management/leadership.
  • Experience of delivering mental health support.
  • Relevant qualification in one of the following professions: Social Work, Psychology, Counselling/Family Therapist, with experience in a mental health or equivalent organisational setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable people in taking control of their lives.
  • Proven ability to work with a wide range of agencies/professional groups.
  • Access to a vehicle for travel across Coventry and Warwickshire (business insurance required for travel).
