Overview
Research Funding and Development Co-ordinator at Coventry University. This role focuses on supporting research funding submissions and embedding impact into project design within the Research Services pre-award team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate research funding submissions, ensuring proposals are high quality and competitive.
- Provide expert advice on funder guidelines, eligibility and costing.
- Help embed research impact into project design, supporting projects with real-world benefits.
- Develop and share clear, practical guidance for researchers through training, information sessions, workshops and events.
- Act as a central point of contact for internal funding processes, making them smooth and efficient.
- Support the delivery of exciting strategic and transdisciplinary projects.
- Work closely with academics, research centres, and professional services across the University to enable research excellence.
The Successful Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledgeable about the higher education sector and research funding landscape.
- Confident in providing advice, preparing bids, and ensuring projects stay on track.
- Skilled in communication—both written and verbal—with strong attention to detail.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Experience with research costing, pricing, or full economic costing would be a bonus, but training and support will be provided.
