About the Role

Do you have high aspirations for young people - and believe in their great potential to achieve and thrive? Are you an experienced CSW who could provide learning support to students with sensory needs that impact on their learning? This role requires a fully qualified BSL/CSW who is able to sign for deaf learners. Do you understand the challenges faced by deaf learners in a mainstream College? Are you able to implement appropriate strategies to help learners overcome these challenges? Are you able to develop and use personalised strategies that optimise learning for students of all abilities? Are you keen to ensure that learners are prepared for today’s digital world and can access the assistive technologies that will make their learning easier and accessible? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Support Worker to join our ALS team, part of our wide-ranging Learner Services team. The role may require you to support learners within areas such as construction, motor vehicle and health and social care. To be successful in this role you will need to have had previous experience in the role of Communication Support Worker.

Requirements

  • Must-Have: Level 2 Maths and English Qualifications
  • BSL Level 3 or higher qualification
  • Nice-to-Have: Working with people with sensory support needs
