About the team we are recruiting to: Our Human Resources Service supports the implementation of the Council’s One Coventry Plan and leads on the implementation of our People Plan. Our vision is to be a diverse, innovative and inspiring place to work that enables our people to be themselves whilst performing at the highest levels to support the citizens of Coventry.
The successful candidate will support HR Business Partners with a wide remit of generalist duties including HR casework, employee relations, organisational change, information management and more. You will build positive working relationships with managers across the organisation, providing advice and support on the application of the Council’s HR policies, procedures, terms, and conditions, and support the organisation to proactively embed a One Coventry culture.
The successfully appointed colleague should be able to demonstrate:
- Have the ability to train and coach managers to effectively use policies and procedures.
- Have up to date knowledge and understanding of employment law, People Services best practice and the public sector.
- Possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
- Have the ability to build, develop, question and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of employee relations in a unionised environment.
- Experience of providing clear, relevant and quality People Services advice and guidance to managers on a range of employee relation issues.
- Experience of managing conflict and sensitive issues and achieving positive outcomes.
- Maintaining appropriate records, systems and information in a way that allows up to date and timely information to be available.
- Have the ability to analyse and interpret data to present with clear recommendations.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards this.
