We have an exciting opportunity for a highly driven and hands‑on People Advisor to join our team on a full time permanent basis. This is a true generalist, operational HR role at the heart of a fast‑paced professional football environment. You’ll be embedded within the club, providing day‑to‑day HR support across all departments. The successful candidate will provide expert HR advice and coach Managers and Heads of Departments to drive our goals and address people‑related matters. Fostering strong relationships with your partnered areas, you will tailor support to their needs while engaging leaders of the business to manage formal and informal employee relations cases to successful outcomes. This is not a desk‑based policy role. We’re looking for someone visible, proactive, and confident working directly with managers and employees across the business. Although primarily focused on the football side of the business, this role will also support the wider organisation, including providing HR support to the Coventry Building Society Arena when required. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first‑line HR advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters including absence, performance, conduct, and grievances
- Support and lead on disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring best practice and compliance
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, including job adverts, interviews, and onboarding
- Drive a smooth and engaging employee lifecycle experience from onboarding through to exit
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with employment legislation
- Support with HR projects and initiatives, including policy updates and continuous improvement
- Be a visible HR presence across the club, building relationships and trust with stakeholders at all levels
About You
- Proven experience in a hands‑on HR Advisor or HR Officer role
- Strong employee relations experience with confidence managing cases independently
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, operational environment where no two days are the same
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility quickly
- Proactive, resilient, and solutions‑focused approach
- Ideally CIPD qualified (Level 5 or working towards)
- A genuine interest in sport and working within a football club environment is highly desirable
