We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and forward-thinking EDI Officer to join Coventry City Football Club and play a central role in driving our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion agenda. This is a dedicated EDI position with full responsibility for supporting and progressing the Club’s work towards the Premier League Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Standard (PLEDIS). The successful candidate will lead on embedding inclusive practices, shaping strategy, and ensuring the Club meets PLEDIS expectations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Club’s EDI Strategy and Action Plan, ensuring alignment with PLEDIS requirements.
  • Act as the Club’s subject matter expert on EDI, championing best practice and driving a culture of inclusion across all departments.
  • Manage and coordinate all activity relating to the Premier League’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Standard (PLEDIS), including evidence gathering, reporting and audit preparation.
  • Develop, review and maintain the Club’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy in line with legislation and industry standards.
  • Design and deliver EDI training and awareness sessions for staff, leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers to build inclusive leadership capability.
  • Oversee equality monitoring processes, analysing data to identify trends, risks and priority areas.
  • Produce regular reports on EDI progress, KPIs and compliance for senior leadership and relevant committees.
  • Establish clear frameworks for reporting and addressing discrimination, harassment and abuse.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to increase diversity and representation across the Club.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance EDI outcomes.
  • Lead internal and external EDI communications, campaigns and engagement initiatives.
  • Act as an ambassador for EDI, promoting inclusive behaviours and challenging inappropriate practices where necessary.
  • Ensure the Club consistently demonstrates its commitment to equality to supporters, staff and the wider community.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the Equality Act 2010.
  • Proven experience delivering EDI strategies, initiatives or programmes.
  • Experience working with or towards recognised EDI standards (ideally within sport or a regulated environment).
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to inform decision-making and reporting.
  • Experience designing and delivering training or workshops.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building ability.
  • Confidence to challenge and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a genuine passion for EDI.
