As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be on the frontline of housing regulation. This is an investigative and legal-heavy role where no two days are the same. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting: Conducting detailed HHSRS inspections to identify hazards and ensure HMOs meet statutory standards.
- Regulating: Managing the HMO licensing process, ensuring landlords adhere to their legal obligations and management regulations.
- Enforcing: Taking a lead on enforcement actions, which may include serving statutory notices, issuing civil penalties, gathering evidence for PACE interviews, and preparing cases for prosecution.
- Advising: Providing expert guidance to landlords, agents, and tenants to promote high standards within Coventry's private rented sector.
