It is a very exciting time to be joining Hollyfast Primary School. We are a three-form entry primary, based in the area of Coundon, Coventry. We have a very positive reputation within the local area and being one of the largest schools in Coventry, we are an integral part of the local community. With a growing leadership structure and a brand new vision and values for our school, we are looking forward to recruiting a Teaching Assistant to help us grow, achieve and further transform our school.

What is the job role?

The role of a Teaching Assistant is to work under the direction of the class teacher and senior staff to support teaching and learning, helping pupils to reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. The TA plays a vital role in ensuring pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ learning in the classroom, individually or in small groups
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
  • Provide additional support for pupils with SEND or additional needs
  • Help to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources
  • Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes or school activities
  • Contribute to assessments, record-keeping and pupil progress where appropriate
  • Uphold the school’s behaviour, safeguarding and health & safety policies
