The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, predominantly the children of Coventry, who may be requiring access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported and have a voice that leads to their high achievement and excellent progress. The EES is made up of a diverse range of teams working together to recognise, support and apply innovative solutions to address the growing issues in relation to educating some of our most vulnerable pupils in schools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Science KS3 and KS4 curriculum to given groups or individual children within the Service.
  • Ensure the appropriate GCSE and/or other accredited courses are selected and delivered to meet the individual learning needs of all pupils.
  • Maximise the use of data to ensure appropriate assessment, target setting, tracking and reporting measures are in place.
  • Apply the principles of ‘Quality First’ and ‘Adaptive’ teaching in the classroom and ensure pupils’ social and emotional, as well as academic, needs are met.
  • Support the service’s personal development priorities by fulfilling the role of a Lead Tutor.
  • Take responsibility for interventions to ensure pupils make expected or better progress from initial baseline assessment and/or FFT predictions.
  • Ensure that appropriate resources and equipment are in place and maintained to expected standards.
  • Observe and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
  • Work effectively as a team member on whole-service initiatives and developments.
  • Engage in CPD to keep knowledge and understanding of local and national developments and initiatives up to date in Science teaching and in education in general.
  • Support and arrange opportunities for enrichment and engagement through visits, trips and events.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities within the salary grade.
