About The Team We Are Recruiting To

We have a simple vision and strategy that define what we are trying to achieve, our purpose, and our approach, which underpin the principles of Adult Social Care. We continue to work in support of this.

In a simple sense, all our work, at whatever level, should continue to support the strategy of: ‘Providing support, in the least intrusive manner possible, based on the assets, resources and abilities that are available to people’.

We are a team of waking night staff, supported by their own Waking Night Senior. Covering three of our tenancies in Coventry. We support and safeguard tenants in their own tenancies to live as independently as possible.

What is the job role?

The job entails working night shifts, supporting tenants during late evenings and while they are sleeping or returning from evening activities. Waking nights have some reporting responsibilities, and all training is provided.

You will be part of a team providing high standards of person-centred support to our Service Users, supporting them to complete everyday living tasks, work towards achieving their personal goals, and enable them to live as independently as they can.

PILS supports adults with learning disabilities to maintain their tenancies. Our goal is to provide a high standard of care for everyone who has a service from PILS service promoting their dignity, respect, and independence at all times.

We have 3 roles to appoint to:

  • 1 x 22.5 hours
  • 1 x 11.75 hours
  • 1 x 9 hours (fixed term for 12 months)

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

You will be committed to:

  • Providing a quality service by promoting the physical (including the administration of medication), emotional, social, and intellectual well-being of each service user.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety requirements are adhered to with due regard to service users, staff, and all persons accessing the tenancy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Making sure the service provided meets the needs and outcomes of each service user.

You’ll need:

  • A formal qualification is not required to apply, but you will be expected to complete a Diploma 2 in Health Social Care within an agreed timescale.
  • To have a basic knowledge of safeguarding, policies and procedures.
  • To work with management to ensure that all service users’ needs are being met to support their outcomes.
  • The ability to use own initiative and respond flexibly to the needs of service users, promoting dignity, respect, and choice at all times.
