The Connected Persons Team is made up of three supervisory clusters with practitioners taking a caseload of either assessment work, or the supervision and support of approved Connected Person Foster Carers. The team has responsibility for both the assessment and supervision of Connected Persons Foster Carers and the assessment and support of Special Guardians.

What is the job role?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Social Worker to undertake the assessment of prospective Connected Person Foster Carers. Our Connected Persons Team is a key element of our Family Valued programme, as we believe that children will often do best if they remain in their extended family network. The successful applicant for this position will be at the centre of a growing and fast developing service, and will benefit from joining a team deeply committed to providing high-quality support to Connected Person Foster Carers and Special Guardians.

This is a fixed-term post for 12 months.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will undertake assessment of prospective carers, which may also include foster carer supervision whilst care planning and permanence for children is progressed. They will also have the opportunity to work with team colleagues in providing support to carers through training, support groups and events.
