About The Team We Are Recruiting To

The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, primarily the children of Coventry, who may require access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported, have a voice, and achieve high progress and achievement.

The EES comprises diverse teams working together to recognize, support, and apply innovative solutions to address challenges in educating our most vulnerable pupils.

The School Organisation Service (Admissions) coordinates school admissions processes. Tasks include:

  • Administration of all applications for school places
  • Providing information for parents, schools, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting the school appeals process

What is the job role?

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player and great communicator to join our service. You will handle applications for school places and travel passes, interpreting and explaining complex statutory guidelines to parents, school staff, and colleagues. Strong IT skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.

This role is fixed-term for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.

Who are we looking for?

You should have strong IT skills, preferably with experience in Capita ONE or similar admissions software. Working with parents and schools, you will need:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively
  • A flexible and positive approach to teamwork
