The Project Support Officer in the Emergency Services Unit provides practical support to the planning, coordination and delivery of projects across services including CCTV, telecare and alarm monitoring. Working closely with managers and operational teams, the postholder will organise project activity, track progress, monitor performance and ensure key tasks are delivered on time.

The role includes supporting the financial management of projects, such as monitoring budgets, tracking expenditure, maintaining financial records and reporting on variances to support effective decision‑making. The postholder will collate data, maintain project documentation, support stakeholder engagement and contribute to reporting to ensure clear oversight of delivery.

In addition, the role supports the development and maintenance of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and industry‑specific standards relevant to CCTV and security operations, helping to ensure compliance, consistency and continuous improvement across the service.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The Job Holder will also be required to obtain clearance through BS7858 vetting. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who can support the delivery of a varied programme of work across the Emergency Services Unit. You will be someone who is confident working across multiple projects and able to balance competing priorities in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Qualifications
  • Experience of supporting projects or service improvements, including planning, tracking progress and maintaining documentation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Good analytical skills, with experience of collecting, interpreting and reporting data to support decision‑making
  • Experience of supporting budget monitoring or financial administration, including tracking expenditure and maintaining accurate records
  • An understanding of quality management approaches, with the ability to support systems such as ISO 9001 or industry standards relevant to CCTV and security services
  • Strong ICT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word to manage information and produce reports
  • Has an interest in technology and innovation, with the ability to support the development and implementation of new systems and digital solutions across services such as CCTV and telecare
  • Has an understanding of, or interest in, telecare services, with a commitment to supporting systems that help vulnerable residents live safely and independently
  • Is comfortable working in an environment where services are evolving, and can contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiency and customer outcomes
  • Takes a structured and methodical approach to their work
  • Is confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Has a positive, can‑do attitude and a willingness to support continuous improvement
