As the Operational Lead for Fostering, you will oversee the day‑to‑day management and strategic development of the fostering service. Key responsibilities include leading teams, implementing improvement plans and reforms, and collaborating with stakeholders, including carers, to drive service innovation. You will ensure Coventry’s Children and Education Services meet its sufficiency duty and provide children in care with a safe, loving home close to their community.

Responsibilities

  • Implement improvement plans and reforms to enhance service quality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including carers, to drive innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and fostering regulations.
  • Act as a Fostering Decision Maker, approving potential carers based on assessment evidence.
  • Support carers to meet individual needs and enable family‑led solutions through kinship fostering arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills and significant relevant experience in fostering.
  • Good understanding of Fostering Regulations and relevant guidance.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and supporting carers.

  • Appointment is contingent upon a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and the receipt of a satisfactory police record under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
