What is the job role?
We are looking for an autonomous and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy and Equipment Service. You will work alongside customers with a wide range of disabilities including physical, learning, and cognitive disabilities, providing planned programmes of therapeutic intervention to maximise functional ability, thus enabling the person to achieve optimum control of their lives, reduce dependency, and increase independence.
You will be responsible for undertaking specialist functional assessments to establish if the customer meets the criteria for provision of service. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
A qualified Occupational Therapist with experience in health and/or social care setting with a minimum of 2 years post qualifying. Have experience of working in major adaptations, complex moving and handling, and enablement. Excellent interpersonal skills working with people, formal/informal carers, and health and social care professionals. Broad experience of working with people with complex medical conditions and knowledge of multi-pathology. Complete comprehensive therapy strength-based assessments and client-centred enablement plans. Organising, prioritising case load and delegating to Occupational Therapy Assistants to meet client-centred objectives. Self-motivated with a flexible approach.
