Responsibilities

  • Overnight carer – support children with complex health needs, develop a safe sleep routine and provide personal care as required; maintain accurate care plans.
  • Relationship builder – build positive relationships, promote child‐centred development, and communicate in ways that meet each child's needs.
  • Educator – share accessible information with children, empower them to make informed choices about their care and future.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and young people; residency or progressive care positions welcome.
  • Understanding of challenges faced by looked‐after children and ability to respond to unique needs in a child‐centred way.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, resilience, flexibility, accountability and collaborative teamwork.
  • Strong computer literacy for documentation and evidence; ability to pursue training and Diploma for Residential Childcare.

Working Patterns & Post

  • Part-time 22 hours per week Waking Night Carer positions on fixed 9‐week rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Training opportunities may be scheduled during the day.
