The Housing and Homelessness Service is a very busy environment and faces many challenges to meet the housing needs of citizens of Coventry. The team has grown significantly during the last 12 months and reflects the fact that Housing & Homelessness are now a key council priority.

- Provision of the statutory homeless service

Job Role
This position is for a Choice Based Lettings Officer who will assess housing applications to the General Housing Register – Coventry Homefinder – in line with the Council’s Allocations Policy. The role requires a self‑motivated, adaptable team player with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and supporting service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess housing applications in line with policy
- Engage with customers to gather information and provide advice
- Complete a range of administrative tasks
- Work collaboratively to meet service and performance objectives
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong organisational skills and the initiative to prioritise workload
- Flexible approach to work
- IT skills sufficient to access and interpret information
- Experience of dealing with a wide range of people and resolving enquiries
- Desire to deliver an excellent service to every internal and external customer
- Previous experience in Housing and Allocations is desirable but not essential
- Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship offered for this role
