Our Values We are looking for a Headteacher who can embrace our ethos of “One community, many cultures, growing and learning together”. Our school is at the heart of our local community, and we want a leader who loves our children, staff and community. Gosford Park Primary School is a two‑form entry school with Nursery provision and excellent wraparound facilities. We pride ourselves on the strength and warmth of our relationships. We are committed to providing a broad curriculum that is exciting, creative and stimulating for all children, enabling them to develop a love of learning in a warm and positive environment where they are safe, valued and challenged.

What is the job role? We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and empathetic leader who will build on the current progress and nurture and inspire the children and staff to be “the best they possibly can be”. The new, dynamic and inclusive leader will strive for excellence in all areas of school life and work to enhance our reputation in the local community. They will also understand the challenges faced by a multi‑cultural community and will use the DFE RISE programme to tackle OFSTED identified shortcomings.

Who are we looking for? The successful candidate will lead a dedicated staff team, supported by a committed governing board. They must put children first, create an environment that allows staff to flourish and engage, and be prepared to work with outside support to overcome challenges. The candidate should share our values, commitment to a child‑centred approach and the belief that everyone has a right to feel safe, to learn and to be treated with respect. If you share our beliefs and have the necessary skills and qualities to lead our fantastic school, we will warmly welcome your application.

Application Details Interview Date: 9th and 10th June 2026. Our workforce data shows that men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are under‑represented, and we encourage applicants from these backgrounds to apply. This does not prevent individuals with or without other protected characteristics as set out within the Equality Act 2010 from applying for this post. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, relevant safeguarding and pre‑employment clearances and receive two satisfactory references. Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre‑employment check, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
