Overview
We are recruiting a Food Service Assistant at Cottage Farm Lodge and casual posts within Housing with Care. We provide a hot lunchtime meal to our clients daily. Your role will include providing a welcoming and responsive environment to ensure tenants feel safe and valued. You will maintain high standards of food hygiene/cleanliness in line with best practice, and to ensure compliance with requirements.

- Serving hot meals
- Food preparation to include the use of microwaves and ovens
- Kitchen cleaning
- Washing up
Working hours and terms
We have one permanent 15 hour position and casual positions. Working hours are between 9.30am – 3.00pm. We offer a 7-day service.
Requirements
You will require good oral and written skills in communicating with a variety of people. You will be required to work alone and prioritise your workload and to prepare and present meals for a diverse client group.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will have some experience in a catering environment, a knowledge of Health and Safety practices, and the ability to carry out lifting and carrying duties. You must also have, or train towards, the Basic Food Safety Level 2 certificate and be willing to undertake any other training applicable to this role. Flexibility and reliability are essential.
