It is a very exciting time to be joining Hollyfast Primary School. We are a three-form entry primary, based in the area of Coundon, Coventry. We have a very positive reputation within the local area and being one of the largest schools in Coventry, we are an integral part of the local community. With a growing leadership structure and a brand new vision and values for our school, we are looking forward to recruiting a Family Support Worker to help us grow, achieve and further transform our school.

What is the job role?

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our pastoral team in our three-form entry primary school.

The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, and school staff to support wellbeing, improve attendance, and remove barriers to learning. The role involves early intervention, safeguarding support, home–school engagement, and working with external agencies.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
  • Is patient, flexible, and organised
  • Has the ability to work effectively with families from diverse backgrounds
  • Has experience working in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential)

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre-employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.

Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
