Family Learning Facilitator Position within the Adult Education Service at Coventry City Council. The role involves supporting and delivering family learning programmes across Coventry.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Family Learning tutors and the Delivery Manager to deliver engaging sessions for parents, carers, and children.
- Support programmes that strengthen family relationships and help parents support their children’s learning and development.
- Assist with planning sessions, preparing resources, and supporting learners during activities.
- Deliver a range of programmes, including parenting and relational programmes, stay-and-play sessions, baby massage, curriculum-based sessions to support understanding of primary education, and emerging programmes such as early communication, art-based learning, and outdoor learning.
- Support both one-off workshops (e.g., 2-hour) and longer programmes (e.g., 10-week courses).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Passionate, adaptable, and committed team player with experience in educational or community settings.
- Strong understanding of the barriers adults may face in education and a genuine commitment to supporting learners to overcome these challenges.
- Experience working with children and/or families and either possess or be willing to develop an understanding of the Early Years or Primary curriculum.
- Commitment to learning through play and confidence in facilitating learning sessions, preparing appropriate resources, and supporting individual learner needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding in all aspects of work.
- Relevant subject qualifications, along with Level 2 English and maths, are essential.
- All applicants will be subject to a DBS check and meet the requirements of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
