Overview
Customer Services is one of the largest departments in Coventry City Council and the front face of the organisation. The role involves being the first point of contact for customer enquiries via the service centre, handling thousands of calls and emails, and providing face-to-face support when required. Roles may be based at various locations, including the City Centre and reception points across the city. The council offers permanent full-time and part-time vacancies with an operating window of 9:00β17:00, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Answer customer enquiries and provide signposting and support in the service centre.
- Cover various reception points within the city on a rota basis as needed.
- Represent the council as the first port of call for a broad range of enquiries related to using and paying for council services, including face-to-face interactions.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while dealing with a diverse range of customers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication skills; ability to engage with diverse customers.
- Experience in a face-to-face environment is desirable, but training will be provided.
