The governors of Wyken Croft Primary School are excited to offer a position of Teaching Assistant within our Early Years to commence in September 2026. Wyken Croft provides an excellent environment for all of the stakeholders of the school. Although we are a large primary school in Coventry, we pride ourselves on knowing each child and family individually allowing our children to achieve their maximum potential. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the teaching activities of individuals or groups of children/young people to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical and emotional development.
- Undertake those activities necessary to meet the physical and emotional needs of individuals and groups of children/young people, including those pupils with special educational, physical or emotional needs.
- Monitor individual pupils’ progress, achievements, problems and condition, reporting to the responsible teacher as appropriate.
- Actively engage in the pre‑determined educational activities and work programmes at a basic level, including the administration of baseline tests, and the use of information technology as appropriate.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Be an exemplary practitioner with a love for learning, be motivated and committed to supporting young people in their school environment, and have an excellent working knowledge of the curriculum with a drive to support the outcomes of our children within additional needs, their families and staff.
- Be committed to promoting the welfare of and safeguarding of our children.
- Undergo an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre‑employment clearances, and provide the receipt of two satisfactory references.
- Follow recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre‑employment check, effective 1 September 2022, which may include an online search.
