The Senior Library Assistant works at Willenhall Library, managing a team and ensuring a welcoming, well‑maintained space.
Responsibilities
- First point of contact for library visitors
- Provide IT support and assist with technology use
- Answer questions on a wide variety of subjects
- Lead events and activities (e.g., rhyme time)
- Move books and maintain library layout
- Create and promote book displays
- Handle complaints and incidents
- Manage and develop staff under the Library Manager’s supervision
- Ensure health and safety compliance
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for someone with excellent customer service and communication skills, able to manage, train and motivate a team. Candidates should be comfortable using IT, promoting services, and taking part in events and activities. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK; sponsorship is not offered.
Working Hours
This part‑time post is 18.5 hours per week.
- Monday 9:45 am – 1:45 pm
- Tuesday 9:45 am – 3:00 pm
- Wednesday – non‑working
- Thursday 9:45 am – 7:00 pm* (includes paid lunch break)
- Friday – non‑working
- Saturday – non‑working
- Sunday – non‑working
