What is the job role?

The Adaptations team works with Occupational Therapists and Housing Improvement Officers to administer the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG). This is a grant awarded to eligible disabled people to adapt their home so that they are safer and more independent. Examples of this include providing ramps, changing bathrooms into level-access showers, and widening doors. The role of the administrator is to allocate work to housing improvement officers via an automated system. The administrator will complete initial checks with new applications, answer queries from the general public and contractors, escalating where needed. Managing all administration tasks for the DFG service and inputting all invoices onto Business World.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with experience of working within an administrator role. A good communicator who is able to manage all administration related to DFG. You will need to have prior experience of data input and document production. The ability to answer queries from the general public, in house services and contractors, resolving issues where appropriate.
