What is the job role? The Project Support Officer in the Emergency Services Unit provides practical support to the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects across services including CCTV, telecare, and alarm monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Organise project activity, track progress, and monitor performance to ensure key tasks are delivered on time.
- Support the financial management of projects by monitoring budgets, tracking expenditure, maintaining financial records, and reporting variances.
- Collate data, maintain project documentation, support stakeholder engagement, and contribute to reporting to ensure clear oversight of delivery.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and other industry‑specific standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting projects or service improvements, including planning, tracking progress, and maintaining documentation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good analytical skills, with experience of collecting, interpreting, and reporting data to support decision‑making.
- Experience supporting budget monitoring or financial administration, including tracking expenditure and maintaining accurate records.
- Understanding of quality management approaches and ability to support systems such as ISO 9001 or relevant industry standards.
- Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
Additional desirable attributes:
- Interest in technology and innovation, with ability to support the development and implementation of new systems and digital solutions across services such as CCTV and telecare.
- Understanding of, or interest in, telecare services, supporting systems that help vulnerable residents live safely and independently.
- Comfortable working in an evolving environment and able to contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
