Customer Services is one of the largest departments in Coventry City Council and are the front face of the organisation. We are usually the first port of call for customer enquiries across the council. Our fast-paced telephone teams deal with thousands of calls and emails a week, we have a dynamic Customer Service Centre with around 2500 visitors a week approaching us for a wide range of enquiries from paying their council tax to seeking help to access services and dedicated support teams who process bookings, timesheets and general administration work for the whole organisation.

You may be based in one of several locations, we have a Customer Service Centre right in the heart of the city; Friargate – a large purpose built office by the train station along with several reception points across the city. Joining Customer Services is a really good stepping stone into a long term career with the Council, depending on the role you are offered you will learn about other parts of the organisation.

What is the job role? Project Support Officer - Cov Connects Programme - Fixed term for 12 months. Start Your Career in Change, Improvement and Transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cov Connects Programme, supporting a portfolio of transformation projects within Resident Services at Coventry City Council. We're looking for a Project Support Officer who wants to develop their skills, gain valuable experience and play a key role in delivering projects that improve services, support communities and create better outcomes for residents. We're more interested in your potential, enthusiasm, skills and willingness to learn than previous experience in a project role. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, working with people and making things happen, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing: Working alongside experienced transformation professionals, you'll support a variety of projects and improvement initiatives across Resident Services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning and coordination of project activities
  • Helping projects progress efficiently and meet key milestones
  • Undertaking research and analysis to support decision-making
  • Using information and data to identify insights and opportunities
  • Assisting with the preparation of project plans, reports and presentations
  • Working with colleagues across different teams and services to support delivery
  • Contributing ideas and finding practical solutions to challenges
  • Learning valuable project, change and improvement skills along the way

No two days will be the same, making this a fantastic opportunity to gain broad experience across a range of transformational projects. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
