Passenger Transport Services (PTS) Coventry delivers transportation services to approximately 1200 passengers daily, including schools and day care centres for people with special educational needs and/or physical and/or sensory impairments. The team comprises over 180 staff, from casual to full‑time, supporting 80 accessible minibus‑type vehicles. This role involves providing safe, caring transport for our most vulnerable people across Coventry, often requiring manual handling of large wheelchairs and dealing with challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up service users and transport them to their point of destination using the vehicle in a safe, secure and caring manner.
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent service users from causing harm to themselves and/or others.
  • Complete all paperwork as requested.
  • Be punctual, adaptable and reliable.
  • Respect all clients and treat them with sensitivity and dignity at all times.
  • Be flexible to work contracted hours over a standard working day and a 5‑day working week on a rota.
  • Be patient, calm, resilient and understanding of the needs of SEN children and vulnerable adults.

Employment Details

These roles are 15 hours a week, working 3 hours a day split into 1.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon. Positions are term‑time only. The post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will be conditional upon a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
