Team Manager for Children’s Joint Commissioning
Lead the Children’s Joint Commissioning Team to drive integrated, high‑impact services for children and young people, families and carers. Direct commissioning of services across local authority and health systems, including mental health, therapies, respite care, medical assessments and provision for SEND.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the Children’s Joint Commissioning Team.
- Drive integrated commissioning approaches to ensure services are high‑quality, responsive and centred around the needs of children and families.
- Shape commissioning strategies, influence service development and embed the voices of children, parents and carers in service design and delivery.
- Manage staff, budgets and complex commissioning or procurement processes involving partner organisations.
- Lead change, influence across organisations and deliver improved outcomes for children and young people.
- Negotiate and deliver cross‑agency programmes through collaborative working.
- Ensure quality assurance, market shaping and strategic planning for commissioning.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in children’s joint commissioning across health, social care, education and services.
- Skilled in leading commissioning for areas such as children’s mental health, neurodivergent conditions, short breaks and SEND provision.
- Confidence working with partners such as ICB, Public Health, providers and adult commissioning.
- Analytical and collaborative leadership skills to deliver high‑quality, joined‑up services.
- Experience managing staff, budgets and leading complex commissioning or procurement processes.
